Ironically when looking up “context switching” I got programming results. Apparently Wikipedia refers to the language thing as “code switching”.

Well, I doubt it was the developer. Sounds like one person likely came in, grabbed an engineer, and made some modifications.

Acknowledging the reality

We shouldn’t be talking like this regardless. Don’t normalize any ideas they might have. If you make what’s next expected, they’re more likely to do it and more likely to get away with it.

The bigger battle is the war of the law firms. The big law firms, clearly, handle a lot of government cases. Many of which require security clearance. If you cross the orange man, the White House has full discretion over who has security clearances and who doesn’t.

About a dozen law firms have bent the knee. Orange Hitler is planning to require them to provide pro-bono representation for police, after he grants the police new powers.

Because that’s what we needed in this country, police with less accountability.

His point was that the translations are filtered and refined by media, particularly in foreign languages.

We shouldn’t just blame the education system. It’s not that hard to talk to your kids about this at least a few times in 18 years.

The mantra that it’s impolite to talk about politics has done enormous damage.

If there’s one, and you coordinate them, we have a chance. But they need to be more than half sure it’ll work.

It’s always easier to completely rewrite code from scratch than to make small modifications to an existing project.

They absolutely, 1000% need Democrats to win. Maybe not their respective districts, but if they want to get anything done on a national level, they need about half the country on their side, and that includes Democrats.

Now, they can certainly eat the party whole, the way the tea party and MAGA ate the GOP. That involves being more specific than “Democrats bad”. In fact, how did they do it? Did you ever see them telling people to abandon the Republican party?

There’s a lot of propaganda and propagandists on Lemmy. It’s unclear if he’s an originator of it, or if he’s just swallowed it whole.

All these things can be true. Diagnosis, treatment, and recognition are all much better; we agree there.

I really do think autism and cancer have gotten much more common. And it’s very likely something is causing it.

Not vaccines. Vaccines are fine.

Could be plastic. Could be pfas (forever chemicals). Could be lots of things, or a combination. But there’s most likely an environmental cause rather than genetic or just an increase in diagnosis. (Though the increase in diagnosis and recognition is also real.)

Also the people being sent there are innocent, likely by any reasonable definition, but certainly by the definition of our Constitution.
