  • Certain TLD (e.g. .com, .net, .xyz) will cost a different amount per year to register. I use porkbun as well. A .com or .net may be $12.50+ per year. The cheapest domain is 9 numbers and .xyz from porkbun at 1.22/yr (e.g 123456789.xyz) but isnt as memorable. I use one of those just for external access otg with a cron script for updating the dns entries.

Also remember to hide the whois info because you will immediately start getting calls from scammers that scrape the phone number and call you telling you that you need to pay them to finish setting things up

Generic process is to register the domain, set up the DNS entries to point to your server IP, and if theres any dynamic DNS setup in your software, to enter the api key from your registrar and the domain so it can update it if your IP ever changes.

According to usnews.com (maybe not the most reputable source but),

64% of the voting-eligible population in the U.S. voted in the 2024 election.

Of those, who voted, 49.8% voted trump and 48.3% voted kamala.

That means 31.8% of eligible voters voted for trump, 30.912% voted for kamala, 0.012% voted other, and 36% didnt vote at all. That makes it 62-63% 68% of eligible voters didnt vote against him.

    Which isnt much better

  • This ignores things like slave catchers who ventured across state borders into the north to catch free men (illegally) and the south by seceding was taking hostage those people and other Americans. West Virginia exists because the government of Virginia decided they wanted to secede but the people didn’t

Also states don’t get to vote on laws and just leave and get their way anyways if the vote doesn’t go their way. That’s the agreement they made, and the only basis they had for seceding was they feared a law that would make them unable to own slaves.

The confederacy also started the war with the north by attacking fort Sumter

    That seems pretty arbitrary

0-2 would indicate negative, 0 being extremely bad and life changing and 2 pretty bad (worse than broken bones)

3 which should be neutral is broken bones

4-6 indicates success, but 4 seems to be just barely passing (e.g. landing it but with a fumble and falling) which doesnt seem to balance out a broken bone for 3 or something worse at 2

  • Not owning a branch of government has never stopped republicans. They would rather get dragged out kicking and screaming. Democratic politicians have largely abandoned their voting base and claim their hands are tied and there’s nothing they can do, because they are too used to being able to just skate on through without much experience fighting from a disadvantage.

They can do things like organizing their voter base to fight back in constructive ways and pass local legislation, unify the party on voting for certain politicians, inform their voters about special elections, bills and places they can help out, push a more populist and or progressive agenda, and stop fucking abandoning and lying to their own voter base. They need to be willing to physically lead their constituents

Republicans are so cohesively brainwashed because the republicans have been targeting media and disinformation for decades. They organize extremely well at the local level, and are willing to do almost anything for power.

The democrats need to show equal fervor for defending democracy and they’ve just been cowards so far, telling people to just vote and tell their family to vote democrats, essentially telling us, “we cant do anything so its your problem and responsibility now”

ETA: democrats had 4 years to plan and time to come up with a response to Project 2025. Its weird to me everyone just took “oh its not trumps plan” at face value.

  • The teachers need to step off and stop sticking her with them. From the given bullying and “I’m the only one who will accept you” type behavior, she sounds manipulative and her behavior will only get worse if the teachers force them together and she can isolate your sister. If this is the only reason they hang out, I would be telling the teachers to keep her away.

You need to go to the administration or call them and tell them that this is unacceptable behavior on her part, and on the teachers part to try and force them together. Also keep in mind that they might want to gloss over it and not create a problem and “kids will just be kids.” They should not be going out of their way to create an unsafe environment for her. If necessary, you may be able to file a formal complaint to then school district. If it comes down to it you might be able to sue the family for emotional distress, but id recommend starting with the the teachers first. Call the school and ask to speak with them I guess
